We are excited to partner with Joseph Baldwin from noisivelvet.com for his newest project, the Mobile Garden. The basic concept is to build a garden on a flatcar train and to let it travel with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as part of their regular transit service.

The CTA has officially given the project a green light to move forward!
The project will cost roughly $350,000 which does not include the considerable costs for promotions, materials, and seed for distribution. noisivelvet is requesting donations for the project. Donations and other needs are done through this site: http://www.giveforward.org/makeitreal/
The USDA, Harvest Moon Farms and Midwest Groundcovers are donating all of the plants for the garden. This project is completely being funded by noisivelvet and friends.
We look forward to events with Mr. Baldwin to show off other transportation based green activities. Stop in to smart center Lincolnwood to find out more, and drive a smartcar while you are at it!
